"what gives me hope is that after Christ was resurrected, He ate."- Hma. Moberly (June 23, 2014)

the subject line describes mobes and i. best thing i heard that day...also i would have sent more pictures but joana our investigator deleted all my pictures....so i only have a few. but here we go!

so wow what a week. let me just start with a miracle! so joana and joel (felipe caudas kids) both have bap dates for Saturday last week joana (14) was really doubting. we met with her on Saturday and asked her what was her doubt. she said she didnt know why she needed to be baptized...so with only using the spirit as our guide we spoke a little more on joseph smith and how he has restored the priesthood authority on the earth. how now the covenants we make on earth are binded through this authority to heaven. so we shared that and also alma 7:14-15. the spirit guided both of us to ask inspired questions and to bear our testimony and after all that....i asked her, if she would pray and ask to know if these things are true, she said yes. i then asked, will you pray right here and now with us? and she said yes, so we knelt down and she offered one of the most sincere prayers ive ever heard. then we sat and waited for a few moments, the spirit was so strong and then she looked at us and said "i know its true and even though i still have some questions, i know that i have to do this in order to be with my family forever." it was such a special moment with her. and afterwards we ate brownies and talked about her baptism. she is sooo excited now and so is joel. On Friday their was a district activity in rafaela for the youth and then their families. so they went and we got permission to go too!! it was so fun and the caudas made friends with some awesome members over there. we learned how to dance a certain argentine dance called gatos haha and have tons of fun. that night we returned home, and ran over to the caudas and taught joana and joel the last lesson for their interview on Saturday they had their interview, and our district leader said that they are very prepared and we did a good job :) but it wasnt us, it was the spirit and they are just so ready to be baptized. after the interveiw they had us over for an asado!!!! haha it so awesome to see how this family is coming closer to christ, felipe passed the sacrament on Sunday and will probably baptize them. makes my heart so warm just thinking about it! they are wonderful and im so excited for their baptism this Saturday please keep them in your prayers!
so other than that, we havent been able to meet up with any of our news, but we taught 9 lessons to contacts this week! we met this one lady who believes in every religion! lol she believes in god, and in muhommad and buddha and pretty much anything you can think of and its pretty weird but whatevssss. in church on sunday we taught a lesson about the spirit and it was so good for joana and her mother irene. and uhmmmmm other than that not much happened! haha we got yelled at for being from the united states so that was fun. but all in all it was a good week!

¡funny!
we took a taxi from the terminal from rafaela to the church buildling there and the taxi driver asked where i was from, he thought i was from brasil! haha and then the other one just wouldnt believe that i was from the states. one other time during this week a contact thought i was latino lol. also, felipe said that i had really nice hair..for a pig. i dont know what that means but apparently thats a joke here. and then another hombre asked us "asi fresco no?" we said "si" he said "fresco limonada!" another joke i dont understand haha so here is a joke for all you spanish speakers out there!
"por que los lamanitas tienen la ropa arrugada?" "por que las nefitas tienen las planchas!" haha it translates to why did the lamanites have wrinkled clothes...because the nephites had the plates (iron) haha planchas is iron and plates so theres the joke!

spiritual! i did a study on hope this week during studying chapter 6 of pmg (Preach My Gospel). i read psalms 38:15. really what is hope. to me it is unconditional trust in god and in his son jesus christ. that through him we will be brought to eternal life and made clean through his sacrifice. hope is shown through confidence, optimism, enthusiams, and patient persistence. we must look past our current circumstances and look forward to our life after this one, where we will be with god and jesus christ and our families forever in happiness. we must continually press forward. (2 Ne 31:20) this is our hope. to have eternal life.

welp thats all is gots for this wekk. i hope all is well for yall at home i pray for you and thank you for all your support and prayers!! much love from the bottom of the world!

xoxoxo besitas!

"Another week another destiny" (June 16, 2014)

VAMOS ARGENTINA i must say that so i am not shot haha only a few gunshots after the game but we got in at 8 instead of 9 so yay for safety!!. so this week was a ton better than last week. our zone leaders have us do this thing called milagro shoutout so we text them our miracles that happened and they send it out to the rest of the zone! its been good and helping everyones attitude and helping us recognize miracles! its been helping alot. also our mission president wrote that as long as we work our hardest it is okay. numbers dont mean anything and it is all about the people. i guess the whole mission has been having a hard time. we work so hard but the numbers dont reflect it but were not ourt here for numbers, were here for the people. :)

here is all the district!
so this week! on tuesday for the district meeting, we focused on how to find news and then the elders bought mobes and i helado!!!! (ice cream) we got 3 kilos and shared it all...literally it was so good. and our district leader bought us argentina pins to wear during the world cup! so nice! our district composes of 4 latino elders and then us two american sisters. also after the last transfer our zone is all american besides our elders haha! lucky us we have them in our district!

so wedensday morning we went to see a family of new investigators. they are evangelista and have many desires to follow christ. they are so special and its a mom and her 3 daughters mainly, the youngest one is 15, then theres a 17 and a 18 yr old. we get along great. we had a wonderful lesson about the restoration and commited them to read and pray. when we came back on friday, they had done that and we asked if they knew it was true and without hesitation tatiana, the 15 yr old, said yes. we committed them to baptism so let us pray that things work out. this next week we will walk with them to church. it seems that is the only way we can get people to church is by walking with them but it is so worth it. so that was miracle number 1 this week! the next one was we were able to find a menos activo (less-active) 16 yr old chica who hasnt come to church in a few years. no one has been able to find her but we did por fin!! we had a lesson and we will be seeing her weekly. we tight. also that silvia that we had a lesson once with her daughter..? well we stopped by again and she said she hasnt texted us because she has been in brasil! but they just got back. she has been reading the BOM and she said she is very excited to the next time we could really sit down and talk. we have an appt for thursday night!!! such a miracle! oh and the last one. yesterday for church, the district presidency came and we had a surprise branch conference. our branch pres forgot to tell us so we were totally unprepared but it was all good. they brought us a PIANO so now instead of using pres. phone for the music, mobes played! the only downfall is we have to carry it to and from church haha but its okay! we are very grateful.
the best cookies in the world... times 2
i dress like this for comfort hahaha.
so funny things for the week! for fun, mobes and i sing hymns we dont know accapella and try to sight read them, but it never turns out right...lol. on wednesday night, we got ice cream to celebrate my 3 month!!! and on our way home a man stopped us and told me eyes were like honey haha and then we came home, and had a breakdown of how fat we are becoming, so we decided to go on a diet! well we wake up the next morning, go out contacting, and on our way home we look at each other and just say, im done with this diet thing. and we bought chocolate. haha our neighbor listens to spanish screamo which sounds like someone puking. so we fall asleep to that, we sang a musical number for church (mobes playing the piano, and me and hma hohermuth singing) so we get up to sing and karen (the 10 yr old recent convert) gets up to lead the music (thats her calling). haha annnnddddddd hmm. the members say im like a parrot. whenever i hear a spanish word i dont know i repeat it so i learn it....haha but they say im more clear and all. this week i really did improve alot with my spanish! it was a good week. we also found 5 new investigators who have alot of potential. so all in all it was a very good week! the most successfull week weve had yet id say!

the weather is getting very cold but its a good thing we have long skirts and leggings! haha so spiritual!

the beginning of a rainstorm...the clouds were darker then how it appears
dressing for the warmth
this week i had alot of impressions that led me to say during contacts that our message is different than anyone elses. it is true. we believe in god, jesus christ, the holy ghost and the bible. but what we have to offer is the world and more. also this week i read in moses 6:31-34. here enoch is being called by god but he is saying that people hate him because of this or that. well that is the same with all of us. we are called to whatever work we are called to. strengths and weaknesses included. God has called us to our work for what and who we are so we do what we are commanded to do. and he says "therefore, walk with me" when we follow the commandments, we walk with god. so that is what i wanted to share this week. i hope all is well with you all at home! vamos argentina!!!!! love you all!!! and happy birthday to joaquin!!!

"slammed door #526" (June 9, 2014)

woo hoo made it through another week and i wasnt sick, only 1 spider bite on my knee, and my eczema is basically all gone! yay. the sun is shining, the air is clean (mostly) and i have a great comp! counting your blessings really do improve the shining moments! ;) baha
so this week. on tuesday night after pday we had a family night with the cauda family! the son is the one who was in prison and his parents are jyt (jorgelina y toto). well they live in a house (a one room brick house) and so really quick mom...he was in prison because get this, his daughter joanna, who is 14, was forced by her gma (not jorgelina) to lie and say that her dad molested her..the law here is that if youre accused youre put in jail, but hes out now and the gma is in trouble for that. he forgave joanna because hes like the best dad ever., anyways!! we had family njight with them, we played a game like pictionary which really helped me learned words in spanish which was cool, and then we taught the plan of salvation, and invited joanna and her brother joel to get baptized, they accepted so they have a date for the 21! but we'll change it because that is when argentina is playing in the world cup. but yeah theyre super excited. and then they fed us dinner, chicken and we made them chocolate cake with oreos and dulce. they loved it. they also invited us over every friday for lunch! they love us and we love them. such an awesome family and they have a goal to go to the temple!! so we go backon friday and they made an ASADO haha sooo good. we had, pork, chicken and beef, with chorizo, and cow stomach (one time they made us blood sausage....but thankfully not this time) and some other meat idk (i dont know). it was soooo good. haha so yeah they are pretty much the best.
hmm we finally got the list of the ward directory and so we have been trying to contact the menos activos and we met one who didnt shew us away! his name is jose, he left the church 6 years ago for no reason but now he is living together with a woman and they have an adorable daughter. they invited us over for whatever we need, whenever we need it but just not to like try to make them go to chruch, we can be amigos haha so we will be working on that. one of our investigators, eliana who is 17, has a date! weve been meeting with her for a few months but she really has progressed the last 2 weeks. we just need to get her to church but she said she would get baptized if she recieved an answer that the church is true. she doesnt want to change religions but if its true she will...so we just got to let her see that she has received an answer and yeah shes awesome and a typical teenager who is so obsessed with justin bieber. haha
on saturday night we were contacting and went to a M.A. (menos activos)house. we found him with his friends, totally drunk but they were very friendly...theyre super old like 80 and they had a girl there probably 40 ish but we went in and they were so funny. we spoke to them and got to know them. they asked us a bunch of questions and the lady was saying jesus is my companion, and things like that, we just smiled and said very good very good haha then we prayed and got out.
well other than that we just contacted, and got rejected...and rejected...and rejected. hma moberly said she has never had this many doors slammed before she could say anything before in her mission so it will get better, but really its all in the attitiude. so we have the attitude of as long as we do our part, their blood is not on our heads, and when they reject us, we brush the dust from off our feet as a testmony against them. hah! so i just pray that people start listening. they dont understand and are so set in their ways but its okay. we have our strong members and some good investigators so things will turn around eventually!! :)
so the food for this week. we talk about food alot while contacting and then we make it! hence the sopa de cosas.. etc...but this week we made hamburgers, a cake again and it turned out almost like a cake this time (weve tried like 5 times) and i learned how to make omelets, and we made swiss potataoes. these are so good. you boil a potatoe, then grate them and lightly put them into a pan that is slightly buttered. then you just turn the heat on low and let them cook up. when the bottom is browned you flipp it over and do the other side.. add salt, pepper, onions, cheese and some beef, whatever in it and eat it up. so good....
funny stories! so on thurs we were trying to take some pics duriong siesta. i tried getting to this one spot and there was a big dip in the grass so i jumped over it. i landed and then i slipped and fell flat on my face but i was fine and we got the pic. lol then yesterday we were contacting with the senior sister and she is crazy but so funny and awesome! we walked by this one guy who was washing his car to some music, hermana hohermuth starts dancing haha and says to him "can we dance with you" moberly and i just keep walking haha he doesnt answer and we all just laugh! then just today when we were on a run, we run past some guys who whistled at us so we ran a little faster, then a dog comes and starts to chase us and attacks me! but then we shew it away and literally 1 second after i trip and fall again right on my face! hahaha so embarrassing but i got up and kept running. just a lil blood nbd :) well that was my week. good families, funny menos activos, and falling. hah
oh! i finished the B.O.M. yesterday so i read the whole book in 1 month and 1 week! woohoo!
it is amazing how true the book is though, when you do read it front to back, you cannot help but know that it was written by god through profets. the plain and precious truths are so valuble and everyone must read it to know for themselves that this gospel is the only way to return and live with god forever. it is so important that we try the best to bring people to this truth. and you dont have to be on a misison to do so.
so my spiritual thought is this. moroni 9:25-26. i hope that when we go though hard times in our lives, we dont let the world get us down. life is hard, it wasnt meant to be easy, but we just have to look forward, and remember that we will be okay in the end..in fact we will be more than okay! we will be with god and our families, so whenever life is hard, or if it is a constant battle, just know and keep the hope that you will be lifted up in the end. endure trials well and you will be blessed!

soo thats all i got for the week
chao!!

"I just had some baby barf" (June 2, 2014)

hola mi amores! i just am gonna start by saying happy graduation to my cousin Kelsey, and my friends tyler piwo, david van name and Danika norris. i love yall!

so this week. well on tuesday we had a miracle. so when we contact, most of the time people say to come back another moment but they really mean dont come back...well this one lady who told us that last week, we decided we were going to go back. we go back and she is with her 11 yr old daughter. they say they only have 15 minutes so we are like perfect! we go inside their beautiful house and visit, we become pretty good friends and then we just lead into the first lesson, the restoration. they asked many questions and we were able to talk about them all. their questions led into the next subject. after we finished, the mom prayed! her name is silvia, and then at the end of the lesson she asked, "is there a bookstore where i could purchase this book of mormon?" and we were like " oh this is for you" and gave her the bom. she was very grateful and was excited to read it with her family. she also asked if it was okay for her and her family to attend church!! and we said, uhm of course!! haha she invited us for lunch with her whole family, her husband and her other child, so we can visit, eat, and talk about the book of mormon. we are so excited to go and i just pray that we can bring them into the gospel. it could bless their lives soo much just like it can all of ours. so please pray for silvia and her family! they didnt come to church because they were traveling but it still looks good and we are just waiting for the invitation but we will probably stop by soon.
so jyt (Jorgelina y Toto). they are still lost. the baptism didnt happen and they are very confused still. it makes me so sad but we text them and try to come by but they just arent recieving us...we'll lay back for now and give them some time.
why are we sick... haha *sad face*
so other than that...we just contacted and taught members this past week. it was great...on wednesday night i got really sick and we had to return about an hour early...the next day, hermana moberly and myself we really sick and we had fevers, and nausea we couldnt go out at all. hermana moberly also threw up. we bought eggs that day and thats it. then on friday we had a zone meeting where she threw up again. we both still had fevers and awful pains just in our body also we had no apetite and everytime we ate it was just bad......then after the meeting we went back and slept. on saturday, we felt worse so we stayed in again. and we went a little crazy...we made a series called "the sicko diaries" i hope i can send them to you.

haha but literally for those three days we were just inside, sick, and laying on our beds and not moving. we read the scriptures alot and slept alot too. now we feel much better still regaining strength! so yay all is well here!
funny story!! on tuesday when we were out there were two men that stopped us to talk to us...usually we stop people but they were kind of weird. they were talking and asking about what we were and did so we were like we are missionaries, representatives of jesus christ and we invite others to come to him...yada yada yada. haha well they start to be kinda of flirty mostly to moberly because i cant speak. but then one of them looked at me then told moberly,"los ojos de su companera..." (your companions eyes) then the other one said"si, son muy llamativos" (yes, very attractive)then the first one said in english looking at me"your eyes, how beautiful, your eyes" in like his spanish / british accent hahaha i cant even imitate it but it was really awkward and funny. they were friendly just a little too flirty. but thats argentine men for you.

so interesting fact! while i was sick i was reading in 3 nephi 3:13-26 and 4:1-15. i likened it to "lord of the rings", the two towers when the orcs are coming upon the people of rohan. in the scriptures, the gadianton robbers are seeking to destroy the nephites. governer lachoneus (king theodin) orders all of his people to gather in the land bountiful and zarahelma. they build fortifications around them and prepare for battle (helms deep) they appoint gidgiddoni (aragorn) to basically lead them to battle and after a long and bloody fight the gadianton robbers are deafeated and the nephites (warriors of rohan) chase them down and end up killing the leader giddianhi (saroman). so there is your LOTR reference. im becoming concerned with how easily i find LOTR references in everyday life...and now the scriptures! yikes! haha
well i also read in 3 ne 9:13-14. Here, Christ is pleading with the people left over from the destruction. he is asking them to repent and put their trust in him so he can redeem them. It is still true for all of us here today. we are saved for these days at this time. christ is begging us to come unto him. he loves us so much that he pleads "will ye not return to me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that i may heal you." all we have to do is trust in him and he will carry us through to the very end until the day we can rest in heaven with our father and our families. so that is the spiritual thought.
also scriptures to look up that i thought were cool in 1 timothy, 6:12, and 2 timothy 1:12 and 2:3. i just love them and wanted to share them.
well thats all i got for this week. i love you all so much and pray and think about you all daily!
